I don't want any more lessons!

Feb 7, 2022

Do you all like the instrument you are currently learning?

I love the piano now, but I hated it as a There was a time when I was a child.

I started piano when I was the oldest in preschool.
It all started because a good friend of mine was learning before me,
I felt like I wanted to play the piano.
I told my mother, "I want to learn to play the piano! I told my mother that I wanted to learn to play the piano.

From there, I started going to piano lessons once a week.
However, when I was in the middle of elementary school, I changed teachers and decided to attend a different class.

The reason why I changed the class was that the previous teacher was scary.
Not that I was actually scared. There were rumors that he was scary.

Like, "That girl got hit with a ruler."
or "I heard she cried during the lesson.
After hearing such rumors, I was scared during the lessons,
I couldn't practice.

The new class I started attending was too relaxed,
I don't know if I've learned the technique or not...
I felt like I was just going there for fun every time.
However, I liked the teacher because she was bright.

However, I quit this class as soon as I entered junior high school.
Looking back, I feel that I couldn't overcome the slump.

I don't know how good classical music is, I don't enjoy practicing, I can't play well, what's the fun in it, I don't hate pianoplay anymore! I'm done with lessons!
I was like, "I'm out of piano lessons!

What I would like to say to myself back then was,

How can I get better if I don't practice?
How can you have fun if you don't get good at it!
If you don't know how good a song is, do your own research on what kind of song you want to play!
It's a slump, and when you get over it, it will be more fun!
That's what I mean.

I'm the one who got sick of it and abandoned it in the middle of all that,
I had been learning for years in agony, so I had acquired some basics.
(Now I thank my teacher who gave me strict lessons!)

I stopped taking piano lessons, but I bought myself the sheet music I liked,
I decided to buy the sheet music I liked and play the songs I liked as I liked.

No one told me what to do, so it was a great stress reliever,
I enjoyed playing the piano and loved it.

Now that I am an adult, I understand the importance of slumps and the joy of practice that makes steady progress, I do not hate the piano^.
Furthermore, I still think classical music is cooler than pop music.

I am glad that I have continued to touch the instrument in my own way, even if a little reluctantly.

So, if you too think that practicing is not fun, or that you are not suited for this instrument, don't give up right away,
It would be a waste to give up right away!

Let's sit on the stone for 3 years, or even 10 years.

At Lesson Grid, we welcome those who want to enjoy music again and have blanks!
Why don't you take a trial lesson?
Our instructors and management are looking forward to seeing you.
