Bruckner, a follower of Wagner, incorporated the Wagner tuba in his Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Symphonies. The second movement of the Seventh Symphony, in particular, is a memorial to Wagner, and the Wagner tuba plays an important role.

Richard Strauss, a composer who developed Wagner's style, also used the Wagner tuba in his operas "Elektra," "The Shadowless Woman," and "Alpine Symphony.

Later, the Wagner tuba was also used in Stravinsky's "The Firebird" and "The Rite of Spring," Schoenberg's "Glee Song," and Bartók's "The Wonderful Chinese Official.
