Profile

Nice to meet you! I'm Nozomi, a cello instructor. I'm originally from Mie Prefecture and honed my skills in the Czech Republic, Central Europe. I started violin at age 5 and switched to cello at age 9. I've always loved Studio Ghibli films, and when I heard the cello playing Ghibli music at age 9, I was captivated by its sound, thinking, "What an amazing sound!" Just as I began playing the cello because I wanted to perform Ghibli music, I hope to help others who share that same passion. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, let's enjoy playing the cello together! After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, I furthered my studies at the Prague Conservatory in the Czech Republic. Winner of the Mie Music Competition (Junior High, High School, and College/General Divisions). Recipient of the Okada Cultural Foundation Award. Third Prize at the 23rd Japan Classical Music Competition National Finals. Studied cello under Kaoru Kobayashi, Toshiaki Takagi, Fumiaki Kono, Masaharu Karita, and Michal Kanuka.

Profile

My name is Hideaki Fujiwara, cellist. I graduated from the high school attached to Tokyo University of the Arts and am currently pursuing further studies at the University of the Arts Berlin. I feel that teaching a musical instrument is completely different and more interesting than playing it. As a student, I have been very fortunate to have had teachers who have taught me. The more I think back on them, the more I realize how much their teachings have become my blood and flesh, and how important lessons are to my progress on the instrument. This is why I am so interested in teaching and actively want to help others improve their cello playing. Stringed instruments are very delicate, and it is important to learn how to distribute the fine muscles, joints, and nerves. There are many little tricks and points to be aware of for this. If there is a technique you are not good at or something you are struggling with, I hope we can work together to solve the problem and tailor the lesson to your individual goals! Instructor Awards Viva Hall Cello Competition, 1st Prize Japan Music Competition, 2nd Prize Tokyo Music Competition, 2nd Prize Diploma, Marc Neukirchen International Instrumental Music Competition Diploma, Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition Tokyo University of the Arts, Doyukai Prize, Graduate School Acanthus Music Prize
