Profile

Hello, I am Kansui Fukuhara, a Japanese musician who loves Disney! I'm Kansui Fukuhara, a Japanese traditional musician who loves Disney! I usually play two types of flutes, shinobue and nohkan, in the genre of nagauta, which is the accompaniment music for Kabuki. Kabuki and traditional performing arts are often thought to be a bit intimidating, and there are few opportunities to experience them, but I hope that this online class will make them feel more familiar! Currently, shinobue and nohkan are inexpensive, plastic instruments that are relatively easy to play. We are planning to play nursery rhymes, folk songs, and even ensembles with the shamisen as we progress, and would be happy to share with you the "fun" of playing and the "Japanese spirit" that is etched in the DNA of the Japanese people. I also have a lot of experience in teaching children online since becoming a Corona disaster! We welcome all ages, from small children to the elderly, and beginners are also welcome! For a detailed profile, please see the following ↓. Born in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture in 1998. He studied the flute under Kwan Fukuhara, the shamisen under Misumina Kineya, and the nagauta under Taku Yamada of Tone. Graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020. In 2022, he received his master's degree from the graduate school of the same university. In 2008, he won the Grand Prize in the 31st New Performers Competition 《Hogaku Instrumental Division》 of the Ichikawa City Cultural Promotion Foundation. Received "Ataka Prize" and "Acanthus Prize" while in school. Performed at the 2049 Music College Graduates' Concert in the Momoka Gakudo Hall in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. As a member of the Seikyokai, a youth orchestra, he appeared at the Kabuki-za and Hakata-za theaters. Also active as a member of the young hogaku musicians' group "Chirikara Five.

Profile

I am a multi-instrumentalist playing and giving lessons on koto, shamisen, shakuhachi, 17 strings, kokyu, sho, and noh-kan! I have over 10 years of experience teaching children to elderly, beginners to experts. The Japanese instrument industry has developed for hundreds of years based on the pillar of "teaching others. In recent years, though, many young performers have not focused on lessons, I believe that the decline of "practice" equals the decline of the "industry," and I have been putting effort into lessons since I was a teenager. If you are wondering whether or not to start Japanese instrument lessons, please feel free to apply for one. For some reason, people often think that it looks scary or is a hurdle, but please rest assured that it is not! We will do our best to respond to any circumstances or requests you may have, including face-less, anonymous, or any other circumstances and requests that only online lessons can offer. We look forward to working with you.
