First of all, let's talk about various things.
Regular Lessons
Trumpet lessons (elementary school students to adults)
The date of the lesson will be arranged after you contact us.
I have taught a wide range of students in music schools, from beginner students, adults who do not have time to practice, to professional level students.
I have also assisted students who were struggling with their playing techniques.
Although I have only been teaching for a short time, I am proud to say that I have even more experience in teaching if you include one-off lessons.
I give lessons according to the student's wishes and condition.
If you would like me to look at just the piece you are currently practicing, or if you would like to discuss a point you are struggling with because you are not playing well, that is fine.
~The characteristics of my lessons~.
I emphasize the importance of producing a clean sound without overworking.
If you feel discomfort or noise when you play, you will only play a dirty sound, and you will get into bad habits and it will be difficult to improve.
We believe that practicing with a clean sound is a shortcut to faster progress and enjoyable playing.
For example, if a student can only play cleanly up to the actual high F, we do not recommend music with high B-flat because it is difficult for the student to play high B-flat on his own.
This is because the student may develop a strange habit in his/her embouchure or lose condition by trying to force the high B flat, which he/she cannot play on his/her own.
It is important that you practice songs that are appropriate for your level.
We place importance on perfecting what is easy to play.
We believe that it is necessary to be able to play very simple, basic, easy, "anyone can play this" exercises perfectly with 100 points in order to reach a higher level.
We believe that it is important to work slowly and without haste in order to get better quickly.
0We tailor our lessons to the convenience of each student.
For working people who cannot take time to practice, or for students preparing for high school or university entrance exams, we will give lessons according to their schedule.
For students who cannot afford to practice, we will propose a practice plan accordingly.
We do not believe in gut feelings, old superstitions, or lies on the Internet.
Do long tones for 100 hours.
Do 100 sit-ups every day.
You have to play a certain instrument to be good at it.
If your lips are too thick, you can't play.
We do not teach these kinds of things.
Warm-ups and routines
The basis of my lessons is a daily warm-up and routine that is very easy to play, and to learn how to produce a clean sound correctly and without strain.
z Teaching materials
My students who usually take lessons are asked to practice from the following instructional books that are appropriate to their current abilities.
Toshio Itakura's "Trumpet & Cornet Teaching Book".
I have both beginners and experienced players play this book first.
The students practice the basics of the trumpet in the low to middle register, and gradually learn to produce high notes beautifully.
It is important to be able to play high notes and loud notes, but before that, it is essential to acquire a clean sound and blowing technique without rushing.
Eisuke Yamamoto: "Warm-up
A wide range of menus for daily routines, from basing and mouthpieces to warm-up and flexibility, are included in this book.
Chikowitz: "Long Tone Studies"
This is a long tone with a tonal change and is mainly used for warming up.
One indicator of how well you can play this pattern is how beautifully you can play it.
Urban: "Brass Instruction Book
This book covers most of the trumpet techniques.
0Solo pieces
I think it is a good idea to actively challenge yourself with solo pieces.
You will find many difficult techniques that do not appear in ensembles, but it is very useful to work on them and acquire skills for ensembles.
Main solo pieces
Handel: Aria and Variations from "The Well-Tempered Blacksmith
0Brass Band/Ensemble
We can also provide lessons for brass band and ensemble pieces.
However, we believe that special expression is not necessary to win a brass band competition.
We will instruct you on how to practice efficiently and on points of expression that you should be aware of, using natural expressions.
For those who have problems with the 0 playing technique (mucous membrane technique)
If you are having difficulty improving and meet the following conditions
The student has been practicing for more than a year, but the notes above B on the tuning scale are blurred and do not come out.
You have been practicing for more than a year, but you can't produce any higher notes than the other students around you.
I feel like I'm stuck in a big wall that prevents me from improving even though I've been practicing.
I can play well in the middle and lower register.
I feel like I'm hitting a big wall that is preventing me from progressing even though I'm practicing.
When I put the mouthpiece on, the red part of my lips is visible on the outside of the mouthpiece.
The above is just a rough guide, but there is a possibility that you may have developed a wrong way of blowing, generally called "mucous membrane technique.
As long as you are using the mucous membrane technique, you will not be able to improve.
In order to correct the wrong way of blowing, it is necessary to relearn how to apply the mouthpiece.
I have experience in correcting the mucous membrane technique.
One of my junior high school students spent 3 months to get rid of the mucous membrane technique in order to enter a strong school of a certain wind band.
If you are struggling with this, please contact me once with a good quality webcam or smartphone camera connected to see a beautiful view of the embouchure.
First of all, please feel free to contact us via message.
