Regular Lessons
Trumpet] Lessons for junior high and high school students
We will adjust the lesson date after you contact us.
Lessons are tailored to the student's wishes and condition.
If you would like us to look at just the piece you are currently practicing, or if you are having trouble playing it well, we will be happy to discuss your concerns with you.
~The characteristics of my lessons~.
I emphasize the importance of producing a clean sound without overworking.
If you feel discomfort or noise when you play, you will only play a dirty sound, and you will get into bad habits and it will be difficult to improve.
We believe that practicing with a clean sound is a shortcut to faster progress and enjoyable playing.
For example, if a student can only play cleanly up to the actual high F, we do not recommend music with high B-flat because it is difficult to play high B-flat on your own.
This is because the student may develop a strange habit in his/her embouchure or lose condition by trying to force the high B flat, which he/she cannot play on his/her own.
It is important that you practice songs that are appropriate for your level.
We place importance on perfecting what is easy to play.
We believe that it is necessary to be able to play very simple, basic, easy, "anyone can play this" exercises perfectly with 100 points in order to reach a higher level.
We believe that it is important to work slowly and without haste in order to get better quickly.
I will give lessons according to the convenience of each student.
We do not believe in gut feelings, old superstitions, or lies on the internet.
Do long tones for 100 hours.
Do 100 sit-ups every day.
You have to play a certain instrument to be good at it.
If your lips are too thick, you can't play.
We do not teach these kinds of things.
Warm-ups and routines
The basis of my lessons is a daily warm-up and routine that is very easy to blow and will help you learn how to produce a clean sound correctly and without strain.
I recommend at least 5 minutes of warm-up before practice.
These are very simple contents, but their accumulation will lead to a higher level and more accurate playing of high notes and tonguing.
Of course, if you are already studying with another teacher or have established your own warm-up and routine, we will not force you to do so.
0 teaching materials
My students who usually take lessons are asked to practice from the following instructional books according to their current abilities.
Toshio Itakura's "Trumpet & Cornet Teaching Book".
I have both beginners and experienced players play this book first.
The students practice the basics of the trumpet in the low to middle register, and gradually learn to produce high notes beautifully.
It is important to be able to play high notes and loud notes, but before that, it is essential to acquire a clean sound and blowing technique without rushing.
Eisuke Yamamoto: "Warm-up
A wide range of menus for daily routines, from basing and mouthpieces to warm-up and flexibility, are included in this book.
Chikowitz: "Long Tone Studies"
This is a long tone with a tonal change and is mainly used for warming up.
One indicator of how well you can play this pattern is how beautifully you can play it.
3D Band Book.
This is an excellent book that carefully lists almost all major and minor scales in a large score.
It is used as the main teaching book for scale practice.
There are also several fun duets for rhythm practice.
Aubier: "The Green Teaching Book".
I am allowed to use the instructional book given to me by Eric Aubier.
I have them do bending and lip slurs for students at the intermediate level and above.
It also includes assignments that need to be completed before stamping.
IDEAS FOR WARM-UP"....all major and minor scales are included.
How to play the trumpet easily" (with a gentleman in a suit on the cover)...A genuine and complete beginner's book.
It is suitable for those who are just starting out in music, as it covers everything a beginner needs to know, including finger numbers and note lengths, as well as how to play the notes.
Stamps: "Warm Up & Studies"...This is a very famous book with a very well-known part on flexibility exercises.
It is not currently used in lessons, as it is an advanced book that even has pedal tones in it.
As for flexibility, we will practice from Eric's green instructional book which is easy to blow.
0Solo pieces
I think it is a good idea to actively challenge solo pieces.
Although many difficult techniques that do not appear in ensembles will appear, it is very useful for ensembles to work on them and acquire the skills.
Main solo pieces
Handel: Aria and Variations from "The Well-Tempered Blacksmith
Clarke: Variations on a Theme from "The Carnival of Venice
Urban: "Splendid Fantasy
0 brass band/ensemble
I can also provide lessons for wind band and ensemble pieces.
I have seen the cutting edge of the brass band competition world, so I understand the standards, level, and quality of performances at the national level.
However, I do not believe that special expression is necessary to win a brass band competition.
I will instruct you on how to practice efficiently and on points of expression that you should be aware of, in a natural way.
Those who have problems with their playing technique (mucous membrane technique)
If you are having difficulty improving and meet the following conditions
The student has been practicing for more than a year, but the notes above B on the tuning scale are blurred and do not come out.
You have been practicing for more than a year, but you can't produce any higher notes than the other students around you.
I feel like I'm stuck in a big wall that prevents me from improving even though I've been practicing.
I can play well in the middle and lower register.
I feel like I'm hitting a big wall that is preventing me from progressing even though I'm practicing.
When I put the mouthpiece on, the red part of my lips is visible on the outside of the mouthpiece.
The above is just a rough guide, but there is a possibility that you have developed a wrong way of blowing, generally called "mucous membrane technique".
As long as you are using the mucous membrane technique, you will not be able to improve.
In order to correct the wrong way of blowing, it is necessary to relearn how to apply the mouthpiece.
I have experience in correcting the mucous membrane technique.
One of my junior high school students spent 3 months to get rid of the mucous membrane technique in order to enter a strong school of a certain wind band.
If you are struggling with this, please contact me once with a good quality webcam or smartphone camera connected to see a beautiful view of the embouchure.
First of all, please feel free to contact us via message.

Trumpet] Lessons for Adults
The date of the lesson will be adjusted according to your request.
Lessons are tailored to the student's wishes and condition.
We will practice together in a casual atmosphere, from songs you would like to try to the basics.
~The characteristics of my lessons are as follows
0I place importance on how to produce beautiful sounds without overworking.
If you force yourself to play with an uncomfortable or noisy sound when blowing, you will only play a dirty sound, and you will get into bad habits, which will make it difficult to improve.
We believe that practicing with a clean sound is a shortcut to quick progress and enjoyable playing.
We place importance on perfecting what is easy to do.
We believe that it is necessary to be able to play very simple, basic, easy exercises that "anyone can play like this" perfectly with 100 points in order to reach a higher level.
We believe that it is important to work slowly and without haste in order to get better quickly.
0We tailor lessons to each student's convenience.
Each student has a different goal and genre of music he or she wants to play, and the practice environment differs between junior high school students who can practice every day and working adults who have jobs.
For those who have less time to practice, we will suggest training and things that can be done at home.
We will also give advice on how to secure a place to practice.
For adult students, practicing only the basics may seem boring.
We will give consideration to the distribution of lessons on songs according to your wishes.
We will do our best to support you even if you choose a slightly more challenging piece of music.
We do not believe in gut feelings, old superstitions, or lies on the internet.
Do long tones for 100 hours.
Do 100 sit-ups every day.
You need to play a certain instrument to be good at it.
We do not teach these kinds of things.
